Ostrich Eggshell; green strokes

$150.00

The Ostriches are farmed with the Emus and also produce a lovely eggshell, though they are not native to Australia.

All Eggshells come with an authenticity certificate and light-up stand. Postage is available worldwide at an addition cost or pick up Melbourne, Victoria AUSTRALIA. The eggshells are hygienically cleaned and cleared for customs declarations for travel and postages both interstate and international.

Handle with Care: Emu and ostrich eggshells are delicate, so always handle them with care to avoid dropping or knocking them against hard surfaces. Hold them gently by the base or around the widest part of the eggshell to prevent damage to the painted surface.

  1. Avoid Moisture: Emu and ostrich eggshells are porous and can absorb moisture, which may cause them to swell or crack. Keep them away from areas with high humidity or moisture, such as bathrooms or kitchens. Avoid displaying them near open windows or doors where they may be exposed to rain or condensation.

  2. Dust Regularly: Be gentle to avoid scratching or damaging the painted surface.

  3. Avoid Direct Sunlight: Direct sunlight can cause the colors in the paint to fade over time. Display the eggshells away from windows or use UV-filtering glass or acrylic to protect them from harmful UV rays.

  4. Display in a Stable Environment: Choose a stable and secure location to display the eggshells where they are less likely to be accidentally bumped or knocked over. Avoid placing them on unstable or uneven surfaces.

  5. Protect from Heat: Keep the eggshells away from sources of heat such as fireplaces, radiators, or direct sunlight through windows. Excessive heat can cause the eggshells to expand and may damage the paint.

  6. Store Properly: When not on display, store the eggshells in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and moisture.

  7. Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use harsh cleaning chemicals or solvents on the eggshells, as they may damage the paint or the delicate surface of the shells. Instead, gently wipe them with a damp cloth or microfiber cloth if necessary.

  8. Handle with Clean Hands: Always handle the eggshells with clean, dry hands to avoid transferring oils, dirt, or other contaminants onto the painted surface; the eggshells have been varnish accordingly.
